Practical guide
Plan your Yandex workflow
Compare search visibility with an explicit search region and query language.
Start with a reproducible sample
Keep search region, query, browser state, and device category in the collection configuration.
- Define one target, a permitted task, and the settings that must remain fixed.
- Check the exit IP and location, then run the complete task in the intended client.
- Record valid results, errors, traffic, and timing. Change one setting at a time.
- Scale only after the sample meets your acceptance criteria and the traffic budget.
What makes the test meaningful
Separate organic results, advertisements, maps, and other result blocks before comparing ranks.
Limits to account for
A search region selected in the interface may differ from the IP location. Verify both before attributing a ranking change to geography.
Example: compare two declared search regions
For a permitted local visibility study, choose one query such as bicycle repair and two explicitly selected regions, Kazan and Samara. Keep Russian interface language, device category, browser state, and observation window consistent. Save the region shown by the search interface independently of the exit-IP country; those fields describe different inputs.
Record ordinary web results, advertising, maps, and business cards in separate categories. Decide whether your report concerns website ranks or local-business presentation before collecting data. For a website ranking, store the destination and its position within the agreed organic counting rule. For a local-business sample, preserve the displayed address and category instead.
Common regional-study mistakes
A manually selected search region and an IP location can disagree. Check both before calling a result regional. A query containing an explicit city is also different from the same query without that city; keep these keyword variants in separate series rather than mixing them into one average position or visibility score.
Maps and business cards should not silently shift an organic rank calculation. Likewise, a site’s several result links should not be counted as separate businesses without a declared rule. Mark an incomplete page, verification request, or unexpected language change as a distinct outcome. Reusing the previous page’s ranks creates misleading continuity in a monitoring chart.
What makes the comparison reproducible
Keep query text, selected region, observed IP country, language, device, login state, timestamp, result type, and destination in each accepted record. Capture the visible region setting when your project permits it. A reviewer should be able to explain why a result counted as an organic link, local card, or advertisement without guessing.
Validate a short run manually in both regions before scheduling repeated permitted observations. Describe missing or rejected samples separately and measure traffic per accepted result set. Conclusions should concern the declared query and regions at the recorded times. A proxy test alone cannot establish every resident’s search results, business demand, or future ranking stability.
| Task | Starting configuration | Verify before scaling |
|---|---|---|
| Independent regional observations | Chosen country; rotation between samples | Exit-IP location, valid response content, and traffic per result |
| Login or another multi-step session | Continuous session; consistent browser profile | IP continuity, cookies, authentication, and account permissions |
Yandex: questions before launch
What should I verify when testing Yandex?
Separate organic results, advertisements, maps, and other result blocks before comparing ranks.
Should I keep one IP or rotate it?
Use a continuous session for login and other multi-step tasks. Test rotation between independent requests. Verify the exit IP in your application; connection settings and a fixed address are different things.
Does a proxy guarantee access or a successful outcome?
A search region selected in the interface may differ from the IP location. Verify both before attributing a ranking change to geography.
Residential traffic pricing
Choose the plan that matches your workflows
The rate depends on traffic volume. Check the final amount and available payment methods in your dashboard before payment.
